Early Edition 2017
by Alex Carroll
While Adam and James were making their way over to Worthersee, a couple of us headed over to Edition38's Early Edition - the prequel to the main event later in the year. This year it was at its all new venue, Sywell Aerodrome, in Northampton. The new location provided much more space to showcase the best from the VAG scene throughout the UK with a large field and aircraft hangar.
The show season is now well and truly underway but there are still new builds coming out of the woodwork after a very long winter. One example of this is George Wilson's (@gw.uk) 6N2, it has had new seats, a retrim and boot build, 15" BBS RS' and swapped out the 1.4 engine for a GTi lump.
Ollie Manuello's (@ollie_rs79) RS6 on 21" BBS LM's is pretty much perfection.
Tom Marshall's (@jetta_tom) Jetta is another new build, with a respray, wide arches, AirLift and huge Work Meisters.
There was some very nice classic stuff on display too, this MK2 caught our eye.
There was a very chill atmosphere at the show and very similar to the main event later in the year. We heard some negativity surrounding this show after last years event but this new venue has given it a new lease of life and we can only see it getting bigger and better from here on in.
Location: Northampton, England
